Brothers, Robin and Patrick Richardson, are class approved builders of the Yare and Bure One Design. They have over 35 years experience in the building, restoration and repair of traditional, wooden, inland waterway craft including motor cruisers and launches, cruising and racing yachts and keelboats.
As keen racing yachtsmen all the family have a good understanding of customers requirements and work hard to build a relationship with owners so that the finished project is a reflection of the owners wishes, not just another job.
Projects of all sizes are accepted for new builds from inception to completion, total restorations to a simple repaint and varnish. Transport to our yard can be arranged from other waterways.
As times have changed so have methods of construction and we have built and outfitted new GRP boats and used epoxy/wood composites.
Development and plug work for both our fleet and commercial customers has also been successfully undertaken.
Examples of boats built by us can now be found on the French Canals, Dutch Waterways, Irish Rivers, River Thames, as well as the Norfolk Broads.
Our 6 month commission to build the 28’ flush decked day-boat. Available to hire from Kris Cruisers at Datchet on the River Thames, complete with heads and galley. Would make an ideal trip boat or ferry for 12 people, stable and roomy.
Designed and built by founder of the company, Mick Richardson in 1967. Pictured after a major restoration for her 50th birthday. The restoration was nominated and shortlisted in the 2019 Classic Boat Magazine national boatbuilding awards in the best restoration category.
Commission for Maritek to build from inception the plugs, moulds and completed boats originally marketed as the 27’ Aquila offshore launch.
Based on the 1920’s Brooke runabout this classic launch with GRP hull and wooden decks and outfit is available for sale to order to your own specification.
“Really friendly, approachable guys with a great sense of humour that made us feel really welcome. Lovely service and a really competitive price. Would highly recommend”
“We had a brilliant family trip out in one of Phoenix Fleet’s comfortable, quiet boats and spent many hours admiring the beautiful scenery up and down the river.”
“We were welcomed by the guys at Phoenix Fleet boats and given clear instructions on how to safely operate. The six of us then had a fun and relaxing cruise up the Norfolk broads, even the children had a steer!”
